All of these insects are somehow going to ruin all of your flowers and plants over time. You may be surprised to hear that this is not true. There is actually only a small group of insects that are harmful to your garden. Most insects are neither good nor bad for your garden, but it is understandable that they may annoy you. But, there are actually a large amount of insects that are very good for your garden. These insects actually help pollinate your flowers or even eat the small bugs that will eat your plants. Here at Chicago Pest Control Service, we want you to understand exactly which insects are helpful to your home garden. Here is a short collection of these insects and exactly how they may help your garden.

One very helpful insect that you have probably seen many times is the earth worm. They actually do two very important things for your garden. One has to do with the composting of soil and the other has to do with getting water to the roots. Earth worms actually feed on dead plant material. Because of this, they are speeding up the process of composting. Therefore, they are able to speed up this process so that extra nutrients are able to get to the plants that are still alive. On top of that, they burrow small holes throughout your soil. With these burrows, it makes it easier for water to get down to the roots of your plants. It also allows fresh air to reach the roots of your plants. All of these things will help your flowers and plants grow big and strong just like you want them to.

Another great little critter to have in your garden is centipedes. These little creatures have many legs and look a little strange. The great thing about centipedes is that they are nocturnal. This means that they are awake at night and sleep during the day usually. At night, centipedes will come out and actually feed on small soil animals and their eggs. This will help cut down on the amount of bugs that are in your garden.

The last insect we want to cover that you have absolutely seen before is the lady bug. Most people love these little critters because they are so pretty to look at due to their bright red color and black spots. Lady bugs actually feed on aphids and some mildew fungus. This is great because both of these things can make your plants and flowers start to die. The next time you see a lady bug in your garden you will know that not only does it look pretty, but it is actually saving your flowers and plants from dying.

Of course, these are only a few of the helpful insects that can be found in your garden.
